Eye on the Gwydir Photography Competition

Following on from last years successful competition "Shoot the Shire" comes
EYE ON THE GWYDIR
A photography competition of Gwydir Shire CouncilWith the support of Warialda Works, Bingara & District VISION 20/20 and Warialda Chamber of Commerce
The latest photography competition has been launched. It is hoped that this competition will continue to improve the Shire’s digital photograph library.
Terms and Conditions
- Participation in this competition is free.
- Subject of entry must be of “something” within the Gwydir Shire Council area and can include people, places, events, animals, scenery which capture the spirit of our unique area AND IN ADDITION must be accepted by the judges as pertaining to the section theme, for instance, the first section will have the theme of “Celebration, Action, Laughter and Fun’.
- Any entries submitted by persons under the age of eighteen (18) years must be accompanied by an Authority by the guardian/parent of the child/ren giving permission for that child/ren to enter this competition.
- Any entries submitted which are of, or include, images of persons under the age of eighteen (18) years must be accompanied by an Authority by the guardian/parent of the child/ren.
- Copyright of the submitted photographs remains with the photographer, but the photographer grants Gwydir Shire Council, Warialda Works, Warialda Chamber of Commerce and Bingara & District VISION 20/20 irrevocable and unlimited licence to use, name and publish any entry at their discretion.
- The participation in the competition indicates your acceptance of the competition terms and conditions. There are four competition periods, or sections which will run from 22nd October, 2007 to 30th September, 2008.
For each competition period entries must be delivered and received by Bingara Tourist Information Office or Warialda Tourist Information Office (Locked Bag 5, Bingara NSW 2404) by last mail on the nominated closing date. The closing dates for each section will be advertised in the Bingara Advocate and Warialda Standard at the discretion of the judges. Please note that entries that arrive after these deadlines, but are postmarked the final day of the competition period will be accepted.For each period an entry will be determined the winner of two hundred dollars ($200.00). The entries will be judged by one representative of Warialda Works, Warialda Chamber of Commerce and Bingara & District VISION 20/20 together with the Bingara Tourist Information Officer and Warialda Tourist Information Officer. The Judges decision will be final and no correspondence regarding the Judges’ decision will be entered into.The overall closing date for entries is 30th September, 2008. Entries must be delivered and received by Bingara Tourist Information Office or Warialda Tourist Information Office (Locked Bag 5, Bingara NSW 2404) by last mail 30th September, 2008. Please note that entries that arrive after the deadline, but are postmarked the final day of the competition period will be accepted. The entries will then be judged and the overall winning entry will win twelve hundred dollars ($1,200.00). The overall winner will be judged by one representative of Warialda Works, Warialda Chamber of Commerce and Bingara & District VISION 20/20 together with the Bingara Tourist Information Officer and Warialda Tourist Information Officer. The Judges decision will be final and no correspondence regarding the Judges’ decision will be entered into. The competition is open to any person except the appointed Judges.
- Entrants warrant they own all rights to the works submitted. If there are any discrepancies as to the correct ownership of the entry, the judges reserve the right to eliminate the photograph from the competition.
- Entries must be in the form of photographic of digital prints of minimum image size 14.75cm by 21cm (A5) up to a maximum image size of 21cm by 29.5cm (A4). On the back of each entry must have recorded the entrant’s full details. The details given must match those given on the entry form.
- All entries will be non returnable.
- The winners of the “individual sections” and overall winner will be notified within fourteen (14) working days of the close of the respective competition. The winning entries and details will be published in the Bingara Advocate and Warialda Standard.
