Your environment
The upper Gwydir Landcare Association is a landcare umbrella network the ULGA(Upper Gwydir Landcare)incorporated and is managed by a committee from representative groups. In 2006 there are 7 active groups and a number of individual Family partnerships. The UGLA and its coordinator assist Landcare groups, schools, community groups and individuals to source information and technical advice, run activities and apply for funding for projects relating to Natural Resource Management. At present Gwydir Shire Council suports the UGLA through employment of a "Landcare and Community Support Officer" and they will continue to offer this support in the future. The UGLA is always looking for more enthusiastic volunteers to help in its commitment to ensuring an ecologically sustainable future.
